The Lamar County Sheriffs Department and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office have issued a press release that the body of a Lamar County resident has been located in south Monroe County.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

LORI WILLIAMS, Height – 5’5″ Weight – 250 lbs. Eyes – Blue, White Female was possibly in Monroe County. Williams was last seen on May 2nd, 2017. Her iPad was pinged in the area of Monroe County reportedly near Bolingbroke, Georgia. Monroe County Sheriff J.C. Bittick advised Her Silver Nissan Maxima (GA Temporary Tag # 21737739). was found by Monroe Sheriffs Deputies in a densely wooded area of South Monroe County Sunday afternoon.

Lamar County Deputies, assisted the Monroe Sheriffs Department, along with Department of Natural Resources Rangers located the vehicle in which Ms. Williams was last seen(May 2nd),  about 3 PM Sunday afternoon May 7th.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now processing the vehicle and Crime scene GBI investigators are on the scene of the location of the Body which was near the original location of her vehicle.

Ms. Williams body was found about 3 pm on Monday afternoon.

Spotters in a helicopter located the body and directed searches on the ground to the location.

Ms. Williams body was taken to the State Crime Lab for a determination as to the exact cause of death.

Sheriff Brad White of Lamar County said her family had been notified. The WKEU family and indeed our entire listening area hearts and prayers go out to the Williams family.
