Investigators with the Spalding County Sheriff’s Department are ramping up efforts in locating a teenager missing since last May.  Sheriff Darrell Dix has advised that upon returning home from the Spalding County Junior Deputy trip in Washington DC, he met with staff members about the direction the department will take in locating 16-year old Aubrey Jayce Carroll.  Carroll is a white male with hazel eyes, 5 feet 8 inches in height and around 150 pounds.  He has been reported missing since May 24, 2016, and was last seen with a goatee and a pierced left ear.  Sheriff Dix says “ We are starting over from the beginning and going step by step. New investigation, new investigators, new interviews, new eyes looking at all of the information. I will be briefed weekly on the progress as it moves along. We will stay in contact with the family. We are looking at contacting any organizations that can help with the search as well. If you have ANY information, even if it seems insignificant to you, it may be vital to locating Aubrey. Aubrey has friends in the Griffin/ Spalding area. If you are a parent of a young person that knows Aubrey it may be time to have a frank, straightforward, and heart felt conversation with them about the reality of what this family has been going through since he has been missing.”  If you have any information on the whereabouts of Aubrey Jayce Carroll, you are asked to contact the Spalding County Sheriff’s Department at 770-467-4282.
