A weather related accident in Lamar County on Wednesday took the life of an  18 year old female, a resident of Yatesville Road in Lamar County.  The individual was identified as Kala Hyder formerly of Williamson. She had moved to Lamar County recently.

She was a passenger in a pickup truck traveling south bound on Yatesville Road when the driver hit an icy portion of the roadway, and ran off the east side of the road and went nose first into a culvert.

The truck flipped and the female victim was partially ejected and trapped under the truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.  A male who was driving the truck was shaken up but not seriously injured.

Lamar County coroner Jim Smith had Ms. Hyder’s body transported to the state crime lab in Atlanta for a determination as to the exact cause of death.
