The Sun City Peachtree Pickleball Club will be hosting the 2014 Peachtree Invitational Pickleball Tournament on Friday October 3rd, 2014.
Pickleball, one of the fastest growing sports in America, will be showcased during this Invitational Tournament with over 50 players from Sun City Peachtree, Del Webb at Lake Oconee and Del Webb Village at Deaton Creek.
We are offering conspicuous signage in sponsorship opportunities at the Sun City Peachtree Pickleball Courts during our tournament. Our vibrant 55 + community, now with over 800 homes, is looking for local companies interested in supporting this event and increasing their brand exposure in our community.
(Pickleball is a racquet sport in which two to four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a polymer perforated ball over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a Badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis with a few modifications. Pickleball was invented in the mid 1960′s as a children’s backyard pastime but quickly became popular among adults as a fun game for players of all skill levels.)

First Presbyterian Church to hold Old Fashion Hymn Sing

On Sunday, August 24th, First Presbyterian Church of Griffin at 1349 Macon Road will sponsor an “old fashion hymn sing” in their sanctuary from 3:00 – 5:00 PM. The community is invited to come join the congregation in singing the hymns that remind us of our heritage. The only requirement is that you will join in raising your voice in praise and join us for fellowship afterwards.

During the service, a love offering will be taken for the benevolent fund for police officer Kevin Jordan who was killed in the line of duty. This money will be used to fund Kevin’s House, a ministry serving youth in the community.

Any questions should be directed to the church office at 770-227-2055. We look forward to welcoming everyone to sing with us at First Presbyterian Church.
